PRINTING ARTICLES TO BROTHER HL-1440 COMES OUT GARBLED

Problem:

When attempting to print an article to a Brother HL-1440 the text comes out garbled. All articles and wiring diagram headers are printing characters, boxes and what looks like strange letters.

Programs affected: OnDemand5.com, ShopKey5.com, Tractor-Trailor.net

Solution:

Navigate to ‘Printers and Faxes’ and find the Brother HL-1440 series printer. Right-click and select properties. Click the advanced tab, then select print processor and change from ‘brPrint’ to ‘winPrint’ also ensure you leave on ‘Raw’ for default data type.

The article text and diagram headers will now print normally without the garbled look.
